The Station Education Fund (SEF) is a 501-c-3 non-profit registered with the Internal Revenue Service and is comprised of all volunteers with no paid positions.
The mission of the Station Education Fund (SEF) is to raise money to help contribute toward the significant expenses associated with both present and future education of those children who lost a parent or parents in the Station Nightclub fire. We also intend to provide similar assistance and outreach to any child or family affected by a catastrophic disaster that may occur in the future in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. In addition, SEF Directors have worked diligently to secure college scholarship approval for the children at 7 colleges and universities in Rhode Island. Over $12.8 million dollars in scholarship assistance and programs have been pledged thanks to the true generosity and compassion by the President's of the following schools:
Since any eligible child would only chose to go to one school per year at any given time, the maximum pledge amount of $12.8 million dollars actually exceeds the total need. That said, what is most important is that the children have choices for their higher education that are real and tangible.

SEF would to personally thank Johnson&Wales President John Bowen for all his help. After first indicating his school's support of our efforts, Dr. Bowen contacted the presidents and representatives of all Rhode Island colleges and universities, asking them to consider this initiative in some way and be part of this worthwhile cause.
But the burden of educational expenses can begin long before college, and SEF is committed to help at any stage necessary in the educational process, starting in elementary school and continuing through middle school and high school. SEF's chief goal is to be able to help fund the direct cost of education. However, in addition, subject to available funds, SEF will attempt to offer assistance for those day to day expenses which can quickly add up for families, such as school-supplies, extra curricular activities, and social events, so that the children we are focused on assisting can enjoy the full breadth of a healthy educational experience.
With the continuing rise in the cost of education and related activities even at pre-college level, the community's generosity could mean a lot to any one of these children. Thank you for helping to turn this mission into reality.
